Qigong Schule Berlin Kreuzberg
What is qigong?
Qigong literally means work, exercise, method with qi. Qi is a key concept in Chinese philosophy and forms the core of Chinese Medicine. Qi is as real and as universal as the air that is breathed in and out. It has both material and subtle aspects. The continuous movement or flow of qi in the human body and the unity of body, mind and soul are major concepts in Chinese Medicine. While performing qigong exercises, you can experience this in practice.
When Qigong is taught as a traditional system in a traditional manner, the participants will perceive Qi - the universal energy of life - even when practising for the first time. This distinguishes Qigong – working or exercising with Qi – from gymnastics or fitness exercises in general.
While practising qigong, fresh qi is being collected and the flow of qi in the body becomes strengthened. This allows freshly absorbed additional qi to be used for the internal organs and to be stored so that it is available when needed in stressful life situations. Existing blockages are dissolved and “waste” qi is driven out of the body. Based on the understanding of Chinese medicine this is a basis for a good health.
The scope of application of Qigong is manifold. Based on the theory of traditional Qigong, the practice of Qigong can have the following effects (when it is well taught as well as practised regularly and correctly):
Qigong is based on experience and can only be taught in an effective and safe way based on a sound experience of the instructor himself. This is very much emphasised by Guo Bingsen, our teacher of various qigong-systems over many years. An additional quality of traditional Qigong is essential to us as well: Working on our personal development and spiritual orientation - both as teachers and as students of qigong.
For information on qi treatments please refer to our Qigong practice in Berlin Kreuzberg.

What is special about Fan Teng Gong, the qigong system we currently focus on?
Fan Teng Gong is a traditional Qigong from daoist-buddhist origin that is in particular useful for prevention (strengthening the immune system and vitalisation) and treatment of serious diseases. In China, it was termed as a “qigong for illnesses that are difficult to treat“.
Fan Teng Gong literally means “a method that enables normal people to rise to heaven”. In other words, exercises enabling anybody, to develop their health and energetic capacity.
The system consists of 14 exercises performed standing. The exercises are taught one by one, they build up on each other. At the end of the course, they will be combined into one exercise for daily practice. The standing exercises are complemented by a sitting meditation that supports the impact of the standing exercises. The entire system can be acquired in 12-18 months depending on your own speed.
Fan Teng Gong is suitable for almost anyone, who wants to do something for their health and general well-being (exception: Pregnant women after the third month of pregnancy, people with pacemakers and directly after major surgery). If practiced regularly, Fan Teng Gong can enhance general well-being, stabilise health and activate the capability of self-healing of the body when ill.
